Pomeriggio iniziato con qualche QSO sui 20 metri, propagazione irregolare e collegamenti difficoltosi. Proseguendo sui 40 ho abbandonato l'idea di fermarmi su 7.074 dopo che, in 40 minuti, ho concluso solo due collegamenti. Conclusione di pomeriggio e di serata sugli amati 60 metri, tanti collegamenti di cui uno in particolare mi ha portato soddisfazione: EP4HR (Iran), in mezzo al pile up che si é formato per collegarlo, dopo un paio di tentativi mi ha risposto e chiuso il QSO. Una bella e tranquilla giornata di radio.

The afternoon started with a few QSOs on 20 metres, irregular propagation and difficult connections. Continuing on 40 I abandoned the idea of stopping on 7,074 after I only completed two connections in 40 minutes. Conclusion of the afternoon and evening on the beloved 60 meters, many connections of which one in particular brought me satisfaction: EP4HR (Iran), in the midst of the pile up that was formed to connect it, after a couple of attempts it answered me and closed the QSO. A nice, quiet day on the radio.

Un'oretta di radio stasera, fra una canzone e l'altra del Festival di Sanremo. Poco movimento sui 60 metri e buona propagazione sugli 80. Peccato aver dovuto staccare, domani si lavora e bisogna essere riposati altrimenti, c'era da fare nottata.

An hour of radio tonight, between one song and another from the Sanremo Festival. Little movement on 60 meters and good propagation on 80. It's a shame we had to disconnect, tomorrow we work and we need to be rested otherwise we would have had to do an all-nighter.

Se la prima parte della mattinata in QRP non ha portato grandi risutati, la seconda, il pomeriggio e la serata invece hanno portato risultati inaspettati. CE4WJK (Chile), A61DI (Emirati Arabi), W1LBM (U.S.A), KW4YA (U.S.A.), K8PYD (U.S.A.) e una cosa mai accadutami prima: due stazioni islandesi nella stessa giornata! (TF1EIN - TF3MH). Mi ritengo abbastanza soddisfatto, peccato non poter allegare a questo post tutto il log della giornata, mi sarebbe piaciuto condividere i 178 collegamenti conclusi oggi.

If the first part of the morning in QRP did not bring great results, the second, afternoon and evening instead brought unexpected results. CE4WJK (Chile), A61DI (United Arab Emirates), W1LBM (U.S.A), KW4YA (U.S.A.), K8PYD (U.S.A.) and something that has never happened to me before: two Icelandic stations on the same day! (TF1EIN - TF3MH). I feel quite satisfied, it's a shame I can't attach the entire log of the day to this post, I would have liked to share the 178 connections completed today.

Mi aspettavo qualcosa in più stamattina dal'uscita in esterna. Un solo QSO col gentilissimo IW0HOQ e tanto, tanto vento (50 kmh nel luogo in cui mi trovavo). La Spiderbeam da 12 metri ha retto lo stress ma devo riconoscere che in più di un momento ho temuto franasse al suolo.

I expected something more this morning from the outdoor outing. Just one QSO with the very kind IW0HOQ and lots and lots of wind (50 km/h in the place where I was). The 12 meter Spiderbeam withstood the stress but I must admit that at more than one moment I feared it would collapse to the ground.

Pomeriggio e serata trascorsi sui 30 metri. Propagazione ballerina pure oggi e skip variabili; degni di nota solo due QSO conclusi con JA3FHL e JA3FYC e uno con W3RJW. FM5GB (Martinica) provato a chiamare per quasi un'ora ma senza alcun risultato.

Afternoon and evening spent on 30 meters. Propagation dancer also today and variable skips; noteworthy only two QSOs concluded with JA3FHL and JA3FYC and one with W3RJW. FM5GB (Martinique) tried calling for almost an hour but to no avail.

193 punti, 80 QSO, 20 S.E.S., 3 modi, 8 bande.

Non ero interessato ad arrivare primo, il tempo libero da dedicare all'AWARD é stato poco, ma mi sono divertito parecchio.

Sin dai primi giorni della mia avventura radiantistica, il digitale ha sempre avuto un fascino particolare ai miei occhi. Non nascondo che con l'esperienza sono passato quasi esclusivamente a quello, prediligendo sia l'FT8/FT4 che il C4FM della Yaesu. Stamane, collegandomi qui: https://epc-mc.eu/index.php?lang=it ho scaricato l'utlimo award collezionato, l'ASSA 400, per aver collegato 400 stazioni radioamatoriali del continente asiatico. Prossimo step? L'ASSA 500!

Since the first days of my radio adventure, digital has always had a particular charm in my eyes. I won't deny that with experience I have switched almost exclusively to that, preferring both the FT8/FT4 and the C4FM from Yaesu. This morning, by connecting here: https://epc-mc.eu/index.php?lang=it I downloaded the latest award collected, the ASSA 400, for having connected 400 amateur radio stations on the Asian continent. Next step? THE ASSA 500!

Normalmente, nelle prime ore della sera, i 60 metri non hanno skip eccessivamente lunghi. Di solito, si rimane entro i confini europei, qualche guizzo verso la parte più vicina dell'asia ma mai oltre questo. I DX si fanno prima che sorga il sole. Non è insolito prima che prima che faccia giorno, si raggiungano senza problemi il Nord America o l'Oceania. Stasera invece la situazione si è invertita, PSK reporter mi avvisava che il mio segnale veniva ricevuto quasi in Giappone e sulle coste degli Stati Uniti. Il tempo è stato poco, i QSO ancora meno e fatti giusto per passare un pò di tempo in radio quindi, non ho avuto modo di approfondire l'argomento ma, di sicuro, c'è da approfondire meglio il fenomeno.

Normally, in the early evening hours, 60 meters do not have excessively long skips. Usually, we stay within European borders, with a few dashes towards the nearest part of Asia but never beyond that. DXs are done before the sun rises. It is not uncommon before daylight to reach North America or Oceania without any problems. Tonight however the situation was reversed, PSK reporter warned me that my signal was received almost in Japan and on the coasts of the United States. The time was short, the QSOs were even less and were made just to spend some time on the radio so I didn't have the opportunity to delve into the topic in depth but, for sure, there is a need to delve deeper into the phenomenon.
