Poca attività nel corso di questa giornata, dopo un lungo giro in bici mi sono dedicato un pò ai 12 metri ma dopo circa un'oretta e mezza di chiamate e solo 16 QSO messi a log ho spento la radio. Magri più tardi si prova a fare qualche chiamata sulle bande basse.

Little activity during this day, after a long bike ride I dedicated myself a bit to 12 meters but after about an hour and a half of calls and only 16 QSOs logged I turned off the radio. Magri later tries to make some calls on the low bands.

Pomeriggio iniziato sui 30 metri ma con scarsi risultati, propagazione praticamente assente. Fatto qualche passaggio sui 20 ma senza portare a termine alcun QSO e concluso sui 17 dove la propagazione è stata veramente benevola. Tralasciando i soliti QSO europei, sono riuscito a collegare BG0CAB (Cina) che ha anche confermato il QSO e, col favore della sera, tante stazioni oltreoceano. Chicca della giornata: 8P6PD (Barbados) che dopo poche chiamate ha risposto, chiuso il collegamento e confermato su QRZ. Nota di fine giornata: il tempo sta cambiando e le frequenze alte iniziano ad essere lavorabili anche dopo il tramonto, chissà che questa primavera non riservi delle belle sorprese.

The afternoon started on 30 meters but with poor results, propagation practically absent. Made a few passes on 20 but without completing any QSO and concluded on 17 where the propagation was truly benevolent. Leaving aside the usual European QSOs, I managed to connect BG0CAB (China) which also confirmed the QSO and, with the help of the evening, many overseas stations. Gem of the day: 8P6PD (Barbados) who answered after a few calls, closed the connection and confirmed on QRZ. Closing note: the weather is changing and the high frequencies are starting to be workable even after sunset, who knows, maybe this spring holds some nice surprises.

Conseguito un altro award dell'FT8 DMC, il WPX 1500, per aver concluso e messo a log 1500 collegamenti con OM aventi prefissi radioamatoriali diversi. Dopo la mattinata passata fra i 20 e i 15 metri, il pomeriggio di oggi è stato tutto dedicato ai 20 e alla modalità FT4. L'FT4 si differenzia dall'FT8 per la velocità necessaria a chiudere un QSO. Se nel primo sono necessari tre passaggi da 15 secondi, nel secondo sono sufficienti tre passaggi da 7,5 secondi. Indubbiamente i vantaggi sono molti, l'FT4 è decisamente più veloce ma, al tempo stesso, l'estrema velocità comporta spesso che per chiudere un collegamento sono necessari più passaggi in quanto, mentre nell'FT8 nei 15 secondi è prevista anche la correzione degli errori, nell'FT4 questa caratteristica non lo è. Oltretutto, le frequenze sono decisamente meno frequentate quindi i corrispondenti sono sempre, nel bene e nel male, gli stessi OM.

Inizio di giornata sui 12 metri con la "Exential" di Giovanni IW2EN. Mi sarebbe piaciuto mostrare, allegandolo a questo post, lo stranissimo grafico di pskreporter: in pratica il mio segnale veniva scaraventato solo in Asia, Nord Europa e Sud Africa. La propagazione riserva sempre delle belle sorprese e questo sabato ne è proprio il massimo esempio: sui 12 metri, nella mattinata, ho collegato praticamente solo la Russia e la Finlandia e sui 15 metri invece, nel resto della giornata, ho spaziato da oriente a occidente, dalla Cina agli Stati Uniti.

Pomeriggio inziato sui 15 metri, pochi QSO messi a log (non so se per la scarsa propagazione o perchè i corrispondenti preferivano non rispondere alle mie chiamate) e proseguito sui 17 con fenomeni propagativi molto strani: nei primi minuti dopo le 18 UTC aperture facili verso il sud dell'Africa (FR4OM, Isola della Reunion, che ha anche confermato il QSO su QRZ) e prima che finisse l'ora 6 QSO con gli Stati Uniti in circa 20 minuti. Serata infine trascorsa sugli 80 metri con molti contatti (38), tutti in ambito europeo.

The afternoon started on 15 metres, a few QSOs logged (I don't know if due to poor propagation or because the correspondents preferred not to answer my calls) and continued on 17 with very strange propagation phenomena: in the first minutes after 6pm UTC easy openings towards southern Africa (FR4OM, Reunion Island, which also confirmed the QSO on QRZ) and before the hour was over 6 QSOs with the United States in about 20 minutes. Finally, the evening was spent on 80 meters with many contacts (38), all within Europe.

Pochi QSO stasera, nemmeno i 15 canonici per completare il log della pagina di QRZ. Unico contatto degno di nota XU7GNY (Cambogia), il resto solo collegamenti in ambito europeo. Da precisare che la propagazione oggi non c'entra nulla, semplicemente stasera mancava la voglia di fare radio e quando è così meglio spegnere tutto e dedicarsi ad altro.
