In recognition of international two-way FT8 amateur radio communication, the FT8 Digital Mode Club (FT8DMC) issues Worked-United-States-Stations-Award certificates to amateur radio stations and SWL of the world. Qualification for the FT8 WUSSA award is based on an examination by the FT8 WUSSA Award Manager. The applicant has to prove that he has made contact with minimum 100 different amateur radio stations from the United States of America each having a different callsign.
All contacts must be made from the same country (DXCC entity).
Levels: 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000, 3500, 4000, 4500, 5000, 6000, 7000, 8000, 9000, 10000.

La prima parte del pomeriggio è passata sui 12 metri, tanti QSO e come al solito propagazione stranissima. I contatti sono stati per la maggior parte russi e americani, qualche spagnolo e qualche finlandese ma per il resto solo USA e Russia. In serata invece i 40 metri, dopo un inizio ballerino si sono stabilizzati permettendo facili collegamenti in ambito europeo.

The first part of the afternoon was spent on 12 metres, many QSOs and, as usual, very strange propagation. The contacts were mostly Russians and Americans, some Spanish and some Finns but otherwise only USA and Russia. In the evening, however, the 40 meters, after a shaky start, stabilized allowing easy connections within Europe.

Poca attività quest'oggi ma anche poca propagazione, un paio d'ore di radio e pochi QSO portati a termine. Onde radio che cadevano in Portogallo, Inghilterra, Spagna e negli Stati Uniti ma che non mi facevano ascoltare nessun corrispondente dall'altro lato dell'Europa. Più tardi si ritenta sugli 80 ma in fonia. Dimenticavo, l'attività è stata svolta tutta in QRPP (1 WATT).

Little activity today but also little propagation, a couple of hours of radio and few QSOs completed. Radio waves that fell in Portugal, England, Spain and the United States but which did not let me listen to any correspondent on the other side of Europe. Later he tries again at 80 but in voice. I forgot, the activity was all carried out in QRPP (1 WATT).

Dopo cena trascorso sugli 80 metri, ma non in FT8, only SSB. Dopo un primo QSO con Alberto IZ6FXP, il resto della serata è stato accompagnato da una piacevole e rilassante chiacchierata con Damiano IK3PQZ, Elvio IK1AMN, Vincenzo IK1RGR e Alberto IU1CSX. Spero di non venir giudicato come snob ma i QSO sugli 80 metri hanno un sapore decisamente più dolce di quelli sui 40 o sulle altre bande radioamatorali; meno confusione, meno QSO insulsi in cui si parla del nulla e, molto importante, una frequenza, quella degli 80 metri, che permette di testare sino in profondità l'equilibrio dei settaggi della propria stazione.

After dinner spent on 80 meters, but not on FT8, only SSB. After a first QSO with Alberto IZ6FXP, the rest of the evening was accompanied by a pleasant and relaxing chat with Damiano IK3PQZ, Elvio IK1AMN, Vincenzo IK1RGR and Alberto IU1CSX. I hope I am not judged as a snob but QSOs on 80 meters have a decidedly sweeter flavor than those on 40 or other amateur radio bands; less confusion, fewer insipid QSOs in which nothing is talked about and, very importantly, a frequency, that of 80 metres, which allows you to test the balance of your station's settings in depth.

Dopo l'assemblaggio, realizzato dal buon IZ8GMP con le sue abilissime qualità di tecnico e la pazienza del sempre disponibile IW8PHE che mi ha anche tramandato la passione e l'amore per la radio, la prima parte della serata è trascorsa facendo test, in molteplici condizioni, con il mitico IT9GXC (Raffaele). Devo dire che il DYC 817 mi ha stupito per le sue enormi potenzialità, nessun incremento netto di segnale, me lo aspettavo, ma una modulazione che, abbinata al microfono originale delle mie radio, l'MH31 e allo Yaesu MD 100 A8X è risultata decisamente più corposa e presente. Varie prove sia con il 991a che il piccolo FT818 hanno dimostrato che questo piccolo accessorio da una spinta notevole alla modulazione in SSB. Conclusione della serata, sugli 80 metri, un piacevole QSO con Damiano IK3PQZ con cui abbiamo piacevolemente trascorso una mezzoretta insieme.

After the assembly, carried out by the good IZ8GMP with his very skilled technical qualities and the patience of the always available IW8PHE who also handed down to me the passion and love for the radio, the first part of the evening was spent doing tests, in multiple conditions, with the legendary IT9GXC (Raffaele). I must say that the DYC 817 amazed me with its enormous potential, no clear increase in signal, I expected it, but a modulation which, combined with the original MH31 microphone and the Yaesu MD 100 A8X, was decidedly more full-bodied and present. Various tests with both the 991a and the small FT818 have shown that this small accessory gives a notable boost to SSB modulation. Conclusion of the evening, on 80 meters, a pleasant QSO with Damiano IK3PQZ with whom we pleasantly spent half an hour together.

Pochi QSO anche stasera nonostante pskreporter non indicasse poca propagazione. Probabilmente una serata sfortunata, oppure questa primavera ancora è in una fase propagativa transitoria. Qualche collegamento sui 30 metri, un paio sui 40 e l'immancabile conclusione si 160 metri con EA6XQ (Isole Baleari). Speriamo in giornate migliori.

Few QSOs this evening too despite pskreporter not indicating little propagation. Probably an unlucky evening, or this spring is still in a transitory propagation phase. A few connections on 30 meters, a couple on 40 and the inevitable conclusion of 160 meters with EA6XQ (Balearic Islands). Let's hope for better days.

Giornata iniziata sui 12 metri con un pò di contatti europei, gli immancabili russi e 4Z1TL (Israele) come primo QSO. Proseguita sui 15 dove finalmente sono riuscito a mettere a log PJ5/SP9FIH (Janusz da "Saba, St Eustatius), un pò di americani collegati nel primo pomeriggio e 3D2AJT (Fiji) poco prima di spegnere la radio. Nel tardo pomeriggio ripresa l'attività sui 40 metri ma dopo un paio di QSO conclusi e un altro bel pò nemmeno cominciati ho terminato l'attività quotidiana.

The day started on 12 meters with some European contacts, the inevitable Russians and 4Z1TL (Israel) as the first QSO. Continued on 15 where I finally managed to log PJ5/SP9FIH (Janusz from "Saba, St Eustatius), a few Americans connected in the early afternoon and 3D2AJT (Fiji) just before turning off the radio. In the late afternoon I resumed the activity on 40 meters but after a couple of completed QSOs and another quite a few that hadn't even started I finished the daily activity.

Poca attività nel corso di questa giornata, dopo un lungo giro in bici mi sono dedicato un pò ai 12 metri ma dopo circa un'oretta e mezza di chiamate e solo 16 QSO messi a log ho spento la radio. Magri più tardi si prova a fare qualche chiamata sulle bande basse.

Little activity during this day, after a long bike ride I dedicated myself a bit to 12 meters but after about an hour and a half of calls and only 16 QSOs logged I turned off the radio. Magri later tries to make some calls on the low bands.
